The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Position SummaryThe Divisional Administrator - Level II serves as the operational and administrative leader for the Divisions of Child Neurology and the CP Center within the Department of Neurology. Reporting to the Division Chief and partnering with departmental leadership, this role oversees clinical operations, research administration, finance, faculty affairs, and compliance to support the division's missions of patient care, education, and research. The position acts as a key advisor to physician leaders, ensuring efficient operations, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance.ResponsibilitiesFinancialPartner with the Division Chief to lead implementation of divisional strategy and operational initiatives.Oversee divisional budgets and financial performance across clinical practice, faculty compensation, and sponsored research.Monitor budget variances; identify and drive financial improvement, business development, and strategic planning initiatives.Work collaboratively with the Department Administrator/COO on strategic plans for growth initiatives and physician compensation models.Lead the creation and execution of recruitment and replacement business plans.Oversee grants management monitoring in partnership with the Department's ResearchAdministration teamCreate, negotiate, and maintain master service agreements with outside vendors.Identify, implement, and monitor cost-saving and efficiency initiatives in collaboration with divisional and departmental leadership.Approve and administer expense reimbursements for faculty and staff.Prepare, review, and finalize annual salary rosters.OperationsManage all day-to-day activities of the division; independently resolve operational issues; continuously monitor and optimize workflows; assign work and special projects to administrative staff.Oversee space planning, utilization, IT coordination, renovations, and moves.Supervise, mentor, and develop divisional administrative staff and establish standardized workflows and best practices.Administrative / Human ResourcesLead collaboration with the HR pod and VP&S Onboarding team for hiring, appointments, promotions, salary allocations, and faculty credentialing.Serve as a primary advisor to staff and faculty regarding HR policies and employee relations matters.Manage staff performance, including annual evaluations and implementation of performance improvement plans.Directly supervise and develop divisional administrative staff.Ensure divisional compliance with institutional policies, healthcare regulations, and sponsored research requirements.Review, interpret, and disseminate SOPs and compliance guidance to staffMinimum Qualifications* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experiencePreferred QualificationsProven ability to manage complex operations and financial portfolios.Strong physician relations and leadership communication skills.Ability to effectively navigate and influence all levels of cross-functional leadershipEqual Opportunity Employer / Disability / VeteranColumbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
