Service Technician
General maintenance and repair of cranes, service fleet vehicles small to large, hy-rail components, air compressors, welders and more. Essential Job Functions:Diagnose, repair and service hydraulics and components, especially aerial equipmentDiagnose, repair and service 12VDC electricalDiagnose, repair and service diesel and gas enginesPerform preventative maintenance and federal inspections- crane, dot, etcUtilize hand tools, power tools, impact tools, pneumatic tools, and grinders etc.Complete jobs accurately within the designated quoted hoursKeep the work area clean and maintain the condition of personal tools and shop toolsFollow all safety guidelines and proceduresSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneEducation: High school diploma preferredKnowledge:Must have good understanding of basic automotive mechanical, electrical (12-volt), pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsMust have a good understanding of running cranes and heavy equipmentMust have knowledge of fitting sizes, sizing for hydraulic hosing, and electrical wiringSkills:Strong mechanical aptitudeGeneral electrical wiringWelding experience is preferred (either MIG, TIG, or Stick)Any fabrication skills are a plusEffective written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and problem-solving skillsCertified Forklift operator preferredCertified overhead crane operator preferredAbilities:Ability to read/ understand hydraulic and electrical systems schematicsAbility to operate a plasma cutter is preferredAbility to use oxygen/acetylene torchAbility to work independently and on a teamOther:Must own your own tools (company tool program may be available)Regular and consistent attendancePositive attitude and willingness to learnMust be able to pass a post-offer drug screen & physicalMust be able to pass background checkRegular and consistent attendancePhysical Requirements:The ability to wear the appropriate PPE for the job task performed.
