Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years NICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Deliver specialized care in a dynamic neonatal intensive care setting supporting vulnerable newborns. This travel opportunity is located in Des Moines, IA, at a respected childrens hospital specializing in complex pediatric cases. The NICU is a 42-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 or 1:3, providing care for critically ill infants, including those with prematurity, respiratory distress or failure, and hypoglycemia.Qualifications / Desired Experience:Active RN license with NICU experienceProficiency with EPIC electronic medical records systemSkilled in administering vasopressors, sedation, and glucose at the bedsideAbility to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and teamwork orientationResponsibilities:Provide direct nursing care to neonates requiring critical supportMonitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition promptlyCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plansAdminister medications including vasoactive drugs and sedation as prescribedDocument all patient interactions accurately using EPIC EMRParticipate in patient and family education and supportSchedule/Hours:Full-time travel position with billable overtime after 40 hours per weekNight and weekend shifts possible, with OT and holiday multipliersCall back and on-call pay provisions availableLocation Insight:Des Moines offers a balanced lifestyle with a blend of urban amenities and outdoor recreation.
