Full-Time Music Educational & Retail Representative - Monroe, CT

Job DescriptionEnsemble Schools is seeking a passionate music ed rep to work with local school districts and enhance their music programs on a full-time basis for Creative Music Center in Monroe, CT, named a NAMM Top 100 Dealer, 15 years running. This staff member will serve as the account manager and primary point of contact for local band, orchestra, and music directors in Fairfield County, CT.The desired hours for this position are 30-35 hours per week, approximately between 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with occasional weekend flexibility for seasonal recruitment opportunities. Primary responsibilities include:Music Education RepresentativeOutreach to local band and orchestra programs in schools, community arts organizations, and non-profit organizationsWeekly visits to local school districts (must have reliable vehicle)Fostering and retaining relationships with the musical community in Fairfield County, CT and surrounding areasCommunity outreach in the form of "instrument try-out" and "instrument petting-zoo" events and other outreach opportunities to recruit student interestRetail Sales & Customer ServiceProvide excellent customer service, especially during peak hours with high foot trafficMaintain store cleanliness, merchandising, and an inviting storefrontProcess transactions and operate the cash registerStay up to date on product knowledge and new inventoryQualificationsPrevious retail experience required (music retail preferred)Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skillsBasic knowledge of musical instruments, accessories, and equipmentAbility to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectivelySelf-starter with a passion for music and helping othersTeam-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborateEagerness to learn new skills and product knowledgeHigh School Diploma required; degree in Music or related field is a plusThe successful candidate will be an organized, motivated self-starter with a strong customer service and sales mindset. A background in Instrumental Music Education and knowledge of the function and pedagogy of multiple instruments, as well as experience playing multiple instruments, are a must.
