Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. This contract opportunity seeks an experienced Registered Nurse motivated by clinical challenge and multidisciplinary collaboration within a 33-bed transitional care environment. With an emphasis on cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg populations—including post-cath and post-pacemaker patients—this role offers variety and the chance to refine your advanced skills.Schedule/Hours:12-hour night shiftsEvery other weekend and every other holiday coverage requiredEssential Qualifications:Active RN license—state-specific or compactMinimum 2 years of stepdown or progressive care unit RN experienceBLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (current or willing to obtain prior to start)Must pass facility Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)Travel nursing experience not requiredBachelor's degree in Nursing, Critical Care certification (CCRN or PCCN), and EPIC proficiency preferredNot open to local applicantsKey Responsibilities:Perform ongoing assessments, analyze patient data, and prioritize needs for cardiac, vascular, and complex med-surg patientsAdminister medications safely, manage drips (including Cardizem, Amio, Heparin, and insulin), and utilize a range of airway devices (trachs, BiPAP, high flow oxygen)Interpret and verify telemetry strips once per shift in EPICCollaborate with a dedicated team, including PCAs, a unit secretary, and phlebotomy staffChampion patient safety, advocate for patient/family needs, and participate in quality improvement initiativesProvide education to patients and coordinate with interdisciplinary care teamsThis contract spans 13 weeks, working within a robust and supportive clinical environment. Navy scrubs are required for this role.
