Position SummaryThe Production Planner leads production planning and materials control to support daily manufacturing operations. In this hands-on, high-accountability role, you will ensure that material schedules, material availability, and system data within our MRP/ERP framework are perfectly aligned to meet build requirements and on-time delivery targets. You will translate demand and supply requirements into actionable plans, support work orders, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve shortages and keep builds moving efficiently. Core ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & ExecutionMaterial Readiness: Ensure material availability aligns precisely with production schedules and demand signals.Order Management: Partner with Inventory to support the creation, release, and ongoing tracking of Manufacturing Orders (MOs) within Costpoint.Risk Mitigation: Monitor MO status, identify potential line-stoppage risks, and coordinate with production teams to drive timely resolutions.NPI Support: Support prototype, New Product Introduction (NPI), and full-scale production builds through proactive system setup and planning. ERP / Deltek Costpoint ManagementFunctional Lead: Serve as a key user and operational lead for MRP/ERP systems related to planning and materials.Data Integrity: Maintain and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, demand signals, and supply parameters.Transaction Flow: Execute accurate system transactions including reservations, component issues, completions, and order closures. Materials & Supply Chain CoordinationProcurement Pipelines: Initiate and maintain purchase requisitions within MRP/ERP based on production schedules and forecasts.Sourcing Support: Lead Request for Quote (RFQ) activities for new or constrained parts, evaluating options alongside the Purchasing team.Shortage Tracking: Review materials shortages, deploy mitigation actions, and support expediting activities for critical program needs. Cross-Functional Teamwork & LeadershipEngineering & Quality Liaison: Partner with Engineering on BOM accuracy and part changes, and coordinate with Quality/Receiving on inspection priorities.Leadership: Supervise, assign tasks, and monitor workflow for an assistant planner to develop team capabilities.Job RequirementsEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field with 5–7 years of experience OR an Associate’s degree with 7–9 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.System Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems; Deltek Costpoint experience is strongly preferred.Industry Focus: Proven background in aerospace, electronics, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing.Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DoD purchasing parameters, specifically FAR and DFAR regulations.Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with a high level of system data discipline.
