Major/Essential Functions
Provides direct patient care by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating the full spectrum of mental health conditions using a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities within a multidisciplinary setting
Provides consultation to faculty and learners concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients
Provides crisis-intervention support, as needed
Assumes professional responsibility for their clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and clinical documentation
Teaches and supervises psychology interns, psychology post-doctoral trainees, residents, fellows, and medical students in both clinical and classroom settings
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in psychology from a college or university that is accredited by the
American Psychological Association
Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological
Association
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist by the Texas State Board of Examiners of
Psychologists
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Experience with integration of current technologies in the delivery of care such as the use of Clinical Video Telehealth
Emerging or established regional or national professional reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher
