Draftsman Intern
Brief DescriptionThe Draftsman Intern assists the engineering team in the preparation of technical drawings used by equipment producers. This internship provides hands-on experience with drafting software and engineering documentation while developing strong attention to detail and foundational knowledge in technical drafting.Assist in creating technical drawings based on provided specifications and calculations.Support the preparation of detailed drawings that can be used in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.Work with engineers and the sales team to incorporate design requirements and feedback into drawings.Review draft designs with team members to help ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.Help identify potential design issues and communicate them to the engineering team.Assist with creating equipment nameplates.Support the development and organization of engineering documents related to the company’s product lines.Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to engineering design processes and best practices.Learning OpportunitiesGain practical experience with technical drafting and engineering documentation.Develop proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks and related tools.Learn how engineering, sales, and production teams collaborate in product development.Requirements Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field. Completed or currently enrolled in coursework related to CAD drafting, technical drawing, or mechanical design. Basic familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software. Understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, and basic drafting standards. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications. Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with engineers and other team members. Ability to learn quickly, ask questions, and adapt in a hands-on technical environment.
