Linux Systems Administrator
Overview
As a Linux System Administrator in Clearfield, Utah, you will oversee Linux-based environments for development, testing, training, and production of web applications, ensuring security alignment with NIST 800-53 and aiding audits. You’ll collaborate with data center, infrastructure, and development teams to deploy, patch, and maintain systems, including servers, databases, and network components. The role offers hands-on work with diverse technologies and occasional after-hours support for a high-visibility DoD-facing application. This position supports a mission-critical environment with a strong emphasis on security, reliability, and cross-team coordination.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain and secure multiple Linux environments (development, test, training, production)Apply patches and maintain compliance with security standards (NIST 800-53)Collaborate with data center operations and infrastructure teams for deploymentsSupport builds and deployments for upcoming releases and configure management in developmentAssist development, implementation, and help-desk teams with issues (local and remote)Stand up, back up, tune, and secure systems including servers, databases, LDAP, HTTP, firewall, proxy, and network componentsProvide after-hours/weekend troubleshooting for high-impact production deployments
Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience or 6 years with a HS Degree/DiplomaUnderstanding of Linux server administrationExperience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Linux shell scripting experienceSome SQL familiarityExperience maintaining databasesCISSP certification or motivation to obtainOnsite work 5 days a weekUS CitizenRed Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Linux shell scriptingSQL familiarityDatabase maintenanceCISSP (or pursuit)Git (preferred)
