Polycor Indiana Limestone is seeking a dedicated individuals to join our Quarry team, as a Sawyer. This physically demanding role involves operating heavy machinery and hand tools to extract and prepare stone from the quarry. As a member of our valued quarry team, you'll play a critical role in the stone production process, helping to cut and extract large blocks of stone for further processing. Whether working underground or above ground, your contributions ensure the continued production of high-quality stone used in projects around the world. This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work with impressive machinery in a unique and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities:Operate heavy machinery such as quarry saws, loaders, and material handling equipmentUse hand tools (pick, shovel, sledgehammer, etc.) to prepare stoneRemove mud from stone surfaces using hand tools and steam hosesChip irregularities from stone slabs and cut notches to shape stone blocksLoosen and break stone using various tools (pick, crowbar, sledgehammer)Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaFollow all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures to ensure safety Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbsAbility to work in an underground mine, or surface level quarry environmentMust be able to climb ladders and work in varying conditionsAbility to work a 40-hour work week, plus occasional overtime Experience & Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentExperience operating heavy equipment is a plusSome experience in construction, farming, or stone industry is a plusBasic computer skills or ability to learn company inventory tracking systemEmployment is contingent upon satisfactory background and drug screening results Position Details:Job Type: Full-TimeStarting Pay: $19.00 per hourAttendance Bonus: Additional $1.00 per hour Work Schedule:Schedule: 6:00am - 2:00pm M-F (Overtime schedule 6-4)Saturdays as neededLocation: Monroe County (Adams & Victor quarry)Location: Lawrence County (Empire quarry)Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work Benefits (may vary by location)Competitive salary401(k) and Roth 401(k) with company matchComprehensive Health/Dental/Vision insuranceLife/Disability/AD&D InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid Time off (Vacation/Holidays)Flexible work schedule Additional Information: Any relevant experience will be considered.
