Job Summary:
The Dishwasher at THE GAB SPOT plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, efficient, and organized kitchen environment. This position is responsible for washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dishwashing area. The Dishwasher supports kitchen staff by ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment are available for use, contributing to smooth kitchen operations and a positive dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing:
Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing machines or by hand when necessary.
Ensure all items are cleaned to high standards, free of food particles, grease, and residue.
Sort and store clean dishes and utensils in appropriate places (e.g., shelves, cabinets) to ensure availability for kitchen and service staff.
Kitchen Support:
Assist kitchen staff with cleaning cooking utensils, serving trays, and any equipment that needs sanitizing.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including the dishwashing area, to meet health and safety standards.
Keep dishwashing station stocked with necessary supplies, including soap, detergents, and sanitizing solutions.
Remove trash, garbage, and recyclables from kitchen and dining areas in a timely manner and dispose of them properly.
Cleaning & Sanitizing:
Clean and sanitize the dishwashing area, sinks, countertops, and other kitchen surfaces regularly to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
Ensure that all dishwashing equipment is properly maintained and report any malfunctions or damage to supervisors.
Assisting with Kitchen Organization:
Help the kitchen team with basic food prep duties, such as peeling vegetables or assembling ingredients when needed.
Ensure all kitchen tools, equipment, and supplies are organized and easily accessible to the cooking team.
Assist in unloading deliveries and storing kitchen supplies as directed.
Stocking & Inventory:
Help with replenishing dishware, silverware, and glassware in the kitchen, bar, or dining areas as necessary.
Report low stock levels of cleaning supplies, dishware, and utensils to the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
Assist with inventory counts during scheduled inventory checks.
Team Collaboration:
Work with kitchen and service staff to ensure dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are available for meal preparation and guest service.
Maintain communication with servers, chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
Work together with other dishwashers to manage high volumes of dishes during busy periods.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience as a dishwasher, in a cleaning role, or in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is a plus.
Skills:
Ability to work efficiently and at a fast pace, especially during peak hours or busy periods.
Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing procedures and chemicals.
Good physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
