From schools to resorts to fire stations, and everything in between, we take pride in creating memorable projects that stand the test of time.The Scheduling Manager will provide team leadership by completing activities to assist, guide and train Project Superintendents and Project Teams in preparation and management of project schedules. This role will guide schedule construction, sequencing, develop and deliver training, and supervise critical path analysis.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Develops, prepares, and regularly updates detailed project schedules in collaboration with Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teamsParticipates in all phases of the construction planning and scheduling process including proposal schedules, baseline schedules, and ongoing schedule updatesWorks closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure schedules reflect realistic construction sequencing, trade coordination, and field operationsPerforms schedule reviews to ensure best practices and effective scheduling methodologies are utilized and communicates recommendations to project teamsSupports project teams in developing and maintaining short-term look-ahead schedules to assist with coordination of upcoming work activitiesIdentifies schedule risks, constraints, and potential delays and collaborates with project teams to develop mitigation or recovery strategiesConducts critical path analysis and assists project teams in evaluating schedule impacts related to delays, scope changes, or unforeseen conditionsSupports project teams with schedule analysis related to change orders, delays, impacts, and potential claimsAssists project teams in delay prevention, schedule recovery planning, and root cause analysis when schedule issues ariseAssists with development and training processes related to scheduling operationsVisits job sites as necessary to review project status and ensure schedule updates accurately reflect field progressAttend project related meetings and/or jobsite-specific meetings where emphasis on schedule is discussedPrepares and distributes schedule updates, reports, and analyses for internal teams and project stakeholdersSupports preconstruction efforts through development of proposal schedules and planning inputEstablishes and promotes company best practices related to CPM scheduling.Assists with development and delivery of internal scheduling training and guidance for project teamsCollaborates with operations, marketing, and preconstruction teams in support of project pursuits and scheduling strategiesSupports recruitment and evaluation of scheduling staff or consultant schedulers when necessaryMaintains awareness of external factors that may impact project schedules such as weather patterns, material availability, labor markets, and regional considerationsIntegrate scheduling tools with project management or modeling software when appropriateManages and coordinates in-person scheduling support across project teams when necessaryProvides planning and scheduling support across multiple active projects simultaneouslyRequirements And QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management and/or 8-10 years of construction management experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and understand plans, drawings, and specificationsKnowledge of schedule logic and sequence requiredAbility to lead internal scheduling training classesBroad knowledge of types of construction projects and delivery methodsProficient with MS Office Suite, MS Project or P6 (scheduling), Bluebeam, Procore or Sage (construction management), and PowerPoint or Prezi (presenting)Experience with BIM/Navisworks/Autodesk is preferredEfficient in time management, the ability to multi-task and adhere to/meet deadlines along with a strong attention to detailMust have a strong customer-oriented approach and demonstrate professional demeanorCurrent driver’s license and insurable driving recordPhysical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
