This is an onsite position.In this role, you will help our engineering team translate complex concepts into precise technical drawings and models. As a vital member of the design process, you will support the development of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for mechanical and mission systems, ensuring every design meets stringent military standards and is optimized for the full equipment lifecycle.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Create high-fidelity 3D models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks while ensuring compliance with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards and managing version controlSupport the development of comprehensive Technical Data Packages (TDPs), including assembly, sub-assembly, and detailed part drawings for military applicationsCollaborate closely with Mechanical and Systems Engineers to refine designs based on analysis and testing results, ensuring CAD models include all necessary metadataInterface with manufacturing teams to ensure all designs are optimized for production through DFM/DFA principlesGenerate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the CAD environment and assist in the preparation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Proposals (ECPs)Ensure all documentation adheres to specific Department of Defense (DoD) formatting and security marking requirementsPerform critical quality assurance through self-checks, peer reviews, and providing dimensional data for First Article Inspection (FAI) processesMinimum Qualifications:Associates degree in Drafting/Design, Mechanical Technology, or a related field; or equivalent vocational training and experience3+ years of professional experience as a Draftsman or CAD DesignerProficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, large assembly management, and 2D draftingExperience developing drawings for military applications and adhering to MIL-STD-31000 requirementsPreferred Qualifications:SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Expert (CSWE) certificationExperience with SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) for file versioning and workflow managementExperience drafting for electronic packaging, cable harnesses, or structural airframe modificationsKnowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) design requirementsClearance Requirements:Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearancePhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsMANTECH considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to disability or veteran status or any other status protected under any federal, state, or local law or regulation.
