Robotics and Welding Expert
Sets up robot systems (welding/handling) and/or the tools interlinked in the process under lean manufacturing guidelines. The incumbent will support product and fixture/tool development with virtual simulation tools and will also provide assistance with commissioning / implementation of machines and execution of basic maintenance work.Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, thatCommissioning & Launch Support of automated production linesSupport for new start-ups up to customer acceptance:Machine (preferable experience with Yaskawa, generation DX100/ DX200/ YRC) /Weld Fixture acceptance according to specifications and layoutMachine commissioning & machine setup: TCP, axis calibration, communication etc.Device commissioningCreation of new programs (application-specific: welding, handling, etc.; )Determination of welding parametersDevice tuningValidation of the first partsPreparation of the complete documentation, including the parameters relevant to productionStart-up supportReview and/or update of existing documentationTransfer of documentation with data backups to production after customer acceptanceAnalysis of macrosection, rework, process and cycle time reports (line balancing)Optimization of programs and processes, based on the mentioned analysesVirtual Accessibility/cycle time studies with the help of robotic simulation software "MotoSim"Support during virtual consytruction phase of weld tooling and design approval & buyoff at supplier.Fit & Accessibility Coordination in cooperation with equipment design / jig construction for jigs & fixturesSupport in the preparation of the production readiness and process capability of the production plantsParticipation in FMEA´s and initiation of corrective measures for tooling and machine layoutSupport of the program teams in new start-ups, feasibility studies and the definition of processesSystematic troubleshooting and cooperation in the continuous improvement process "CIP" within cycle time targetsMonitoring of the production cells and the adjoining necessary peripheral devicesTraining of qualified personnel (YASKAWA & SKS)Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, thatConduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.Other duties as assigned.Requirement Profile:Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:Associate’s degree in robotics, automation, engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of robotic/welding experience, preferable with Yaskawa Motoman and SKS, in the automotive industryExperience with Fronius weld equipment, preferredExperience with welding (by hand), preferredAbility to travel domestically and internationally by car or planeTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Technical Expertise:Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, statistical analysis, etc.Knowledge of engineering fundamentals in manufacturing fixtures and gagesAbility to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.Extensive knowledge of GD&TExperience with gaging concepts and designExperience with NAAMS standardsExperience with welding fixtures preferred (automotive exhaust)
