Manufacturing Project Engineer Job Description About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing / Process Engineer to join a fast-paced, project-driven manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on involvement in projects that directly impact plant performance, safety, quality, and productivity. You will work alongside a team of seasoned engineering professionals while independently managing capital and process improvement projects from concept through implementation. Key Responsibilities: Apply sound engineering principles to the design, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment, processes, and procedures. Evaluate existing equipment and processes and recommend improvements to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Coordinate engineering design activities and equipment installations with cross-functional teams. Provide technical support to process lines, including troubleshooting equipment issues, investigating improvement opportunities, and supporting operations as needed. Perform engineering calculations to validate new equipment, processes, and modifications. Represent the engineering function on cross-functional project teams. Prepare equipment and installation specifications and obtain bids from suppliers and contractors. Review and analyze equipment designs and contractor installation proposals. Develop layout and design drawings as required. Requisition materials and equipment for capital projects. Plan, schedule, and oversee construction and installation activities; participate in equipment startup and performance evaluation. Prepare and maintain capital project progress reports. Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including project files, datasheets, drawings, schematics, and revisions. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations. Proficiency with engineering software tools and general computer applications. Data-driven problem-solving skills with effective use of process automation and IT tools. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and thorough. Able to remain confident and effective in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Solid knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 25%, with increased travel during larger capital or installation projects.
