We provide investment, relationship, and practice management solutions that advisors use in helping clients achieve wealth, independence, and purpose.We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our platform engineering team, focusing on building the foundational infrastructure, APIs, and services that power our entire product ecosystem. This role involves creating robust, scalable platform components that enable rapid application development while ensuring security, performance, and reliability across all AssetMark systems.We can only consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement platform services, APIs, and infrastructure components independentlyDevelop and maintain core platform capabilities including data services, authentication, and integration frameworksHandle complex platform-level bug fixes and participate in incident remediation for foundational systemsWrite comprehensive tests for platform components and ensure high reliability standardsImplement secure coding practices with focus on enterprise-grade security and complianceAPI & Integration DesignContribute to technical specifications for platform APIs and service interfacesImplement solutions for complex integration challenges between systems and external partnersDesign and build reusable platform components that serve multiple applicationsIdentify and address performance bottlenecks in platform servicesEvaluate and recommend technical approaches for platform-level challengesData & ArchitectureWork with data modeling, master data management, and enterprise data governanceImplement canonical source-of-truth data systems and ensure data integrityContribute to service-oriented architecture patterns and microservices designSupport cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code principlesParticipate in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline developmentCollaboration & EnablementWork closely with application engineering teams to understand platform requirementsProvide technical guidance on platform service adoption and best practicesCollaborate with security and compliance teams on regulatory requirementsCommunicate platform capabilities and constraints to stakeholdersDocument platform components and integration patterns for broader team useKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong proficiency in platform technologies (Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar)Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systemsKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Hands-on experience in developing Azure Cloud Computing resources such as AKS, app services, Function Apps, Logic Apps, Storage Accounts, etc.Understanding of database technologies, data modeling, and enterprise data patternsKnowledge of working with various AI Tools such as Copilot, Cursor AI, Claude Code, Blitzy AI, etc.Experience with message queues, event-driven architecture, and async processingFamiliarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automationKnowledge of DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, and modern deployment practicesExperience with SQL Server (DB Design, Query Optimization, Indexing) and PostgreSQL DBUnderstanding of security best practices for enterprise platformsKnowledge of financial services regulatory requirements preferredFamiliarity with various iterative development methodologiesAbility to quickly grasp modern technology conceptsObject-oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts with a deep understanding of SOLID principlesUnderstanding of Microsoft graph APIsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field3-5 years of software engineering experience with focus on platform or infrastructure developmentExperience building APIs, services, or platform componentsUnderstanding of enterprise integration patterns and service-oriented architectureExperience with agile development methodologies and cross-functional collaborationCompensationCompensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $125,000-$142,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
