Environmental Specialist or EHS

Environmental Specialist(EHS) 12+ Months Long Contract (Possibly Conversion or Extension) China Township, MI 5 days Onsite role Ideal candidate will be a qualified expert or engineer with a passion for environmental and natural sciences. All candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, with an aptitude to understand and interpret data. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure our compliance with federal, state, and local regulations at a power plant facility. Responsibilities: · Complete field environmental inspections of waste, water, and air systems. · Maintain environmental management systems and plans that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations. · Implement spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations. · Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards. · Collect samples of waste, soil, and water as needed. · Act as the power plant’s liaison for environmental compliance concerns. Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or relevant fields. · A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (power plant technician or engineering experience or environmental compliance) · Knowledge of regulatory requirements, interpretations, and health and safety programs. · Aptitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Outstanding analytical abilities. Position is 100% onsite Please note that this position will require work at both the River Rouge PP and St Clair PP. Not on the same day. Job Type: Contract Pay: $25.80 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Schedule: Monday to Friday Experience: Power Plant Technician: 2 years (Preferred) Work Location: In person
