Director of Operations

A private family on the Peninsula is seeking a Director of Operations to support the Chief of Staff and provide high-level operational and administrative leadership across the family’s households. This role is ideal for someone with experience in team management, household operations, and administrative oversight who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment. The Director of Operations will work closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure smooth operations, support the family’s needs, and help build a strong team culture.***Please note this is primarily an onsite role on the Peninsula/family office, with travel to other Northern California properties as needed. Flexibility is required.Key Responsibilities:Support the Chief of Staff and family with day-to-day operations and strategic initiativesManage payroll, invoicing, and home budgets, ensuring accuracy and timely processingOversee vendor relationships, including invoicing, coordination, and quality oversightPartner with the Chief of Staff to oversee household staff, including scheduling, performance management, and team developmentBuild and maintain team culture, standard operating procedures, and operational protocolsFill in for the Chief of Staff when they are unavailable, including light calendar and travel support as neededAssist with other administrative or operational tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and service orientationTravel as needed to support multiple properties and family events in Northern CaliforniaQualifications:Bachelor’s degree highly preferredExperience in operations, household management, or similar administrative leadership roles within family office or private servicesHands-on, service-oriented mindset; no task is too big or smallWarm, positive, and team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to manage, mentor, and motivate staff while maintaining a high level of discretionStrong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilitiesFlexible and adaptable, including potential travel and occasional overtimeOpen to relocation assistance if neededDemonstrated ability to thrive in a high-performance, dynamic environment supporting high-profile familiesCompensation:$150,000 – 200,000 depending on experienceBenefits stipend provided until family benefits plan is established.Relocation assistance may be available.
