Literacy/Math Tutor

Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Literacy and Math Tutor to provide one-on-one instruction to students in-person in the Boulder area or virtually. Candidate must be willing to meet with students in their homes or at local libraries.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Orton-Gillingham approach and be able to create engaging lessons tailored to each student's specific needs. Tutors must create a safe and positive learning environment, and meaningfully connect with students. Knowledge of executive functions and how to support them is a plus. Responsibilities Conduct initial assessments with students Lesson planing Teach 45 minute virtual or 50 minute in person lessons Take attendance and communicate with parents about their child’s work via lesson notes in our online system Progress monitoring Incorporate SEL strategies in sessions aimed at developing self awareness, self-management, and cultivating a growth mindset Qualifications Bachelor's degree and active CO teaching license; masters degree preferred Orton-Gillingham based training required (OGA, IMSE, Wilson, Take Flight, etc.) for literacy positions Some teaching or tutoring experience required A background in multisensory math for math tutoring Must have some after school availability; additional availability in the morning or on weekends is a bonus Must pass background and reference checks Must be available for in person tutoring in the Boulder area Compensation & Perks Flexible, part-time hours Freedom to be creative and autonomous in your work Starting pay of $55/session Performance review with opportunity for a pay increase after six months How to apply Submit your resume and cover letter telling why you are interested in this position and your qualifications to: elizabeth@evolution-ld.com.
