US Surface Field Mechanic

To support our operations, we are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Field Mechanic to maintain and repair drilling equipment in field locations.Responsibilities include but are not limited toSafety & Compliance:Perform all work safely and actively promote company safety standardsComply with all MSHA and OSHA regulationsFollow company policies, procedures, and field protocolsEquipment Maintenance & Repair:Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on:Surface drill rigsSupport vehiclesAuxiliary and ancillary drilling equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and basic inspections as directed by the Maintenance ManagerComplete welding, hydraulic, mechanical, and limited electrical repairsMaintain equipment reliability in both shop and field environmentsPlanning & Documentation:Prepare parts lists and time estimates for repairs and maintenance workMaintain accurate and detailed records of repairs and associated costsCoordinate as needed with parts suppliers and equipment manufacturersWork Environment & Travel:Work independently with minimal supervision in remote field locationsTravel frequently to mining and drilling sites as requiredPerform additional duties as assigned by supervisory managementQualificationsExperience & Technical Skills:Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in:Diesel and gas enginesHydraulic systemsWelding and fabricationPreventative maintenance programsExperience maintaining drill rigs, heavy equipment, or similar industrial machinery preferredBasic electrical knowledge is an assetLicenses & Requirements:Valid driver's license requiredNo DUI convictionsFewer than four moving violations within the past three yearsMust have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)English proficiency requiredWork Conditions:Primarily field-based with frequent travelMust be able to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snowWill work and live at remote mining sites with close quarters and limited communication at timesPhysical ability to perform manual labor associated with mechanical repair work
