Job Description Our organization is in search of a Chair for the Musculoskeletal Service Line within the Orthopedics Department. This role is pivotal in overseeing the quality of educational, scientific, and clinical initiatives while providing overall leadership and management for the department. The Chair will ensure the effective utilization of personnel, financial resources, space, and other assets to achieve the department's clinical, educational, and research objectives.The individual in this position will be tasked with enhancing clinical operations and creating an environment that promotes business development, education, clinical productivity, research, and exceptional surgical care. Our culture prioritizes physicians, is led by them, and is grounded in our ICARE Values: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.Base Salary Range (with additional stipend for administrative duties): $850K+Reporting Structure: The Chair will report directly to the Chief Clinical Officer for clinical guidance and to the Chief Operating Officer for operational, financial, business, and programmatic planning.Clinical and Administrative Split: (.7T Clinical and .4 Administrative)The Chair will lead and coordinate the Service Line across six hospitals and all outpatient service locations.Collaboration with other System leaders will be essential to integrate emergency care and on-call coverage, ensuring comprehensive care across the continuum.Working closely with the Vice President of Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Service Line, the Chair will jointly plan and implement strategic initiatives, enhance practice protocols, and advise on value-based care strategies and equipment acquisitions.Developing and overseeing performance metrics to improve the overall system will be a key responsibility.The Chair will engage with referring physicians to promote the Musculoskeletal Service Line.In partnership with the Vice President and local executive leadership, the Chair will establish a strategic vision for the Service Line.Accountability for clinical care delivery, recruitment, research growth, educational programs, and community service will rest with the Chair, who will also lead the transformation of the Service Line into the Musculoskeletal Institute.In collaboration with the Vice President, the Chair will:Develop a recruitment strategy for staff and physicians based on budgetary and volume needs, including succession planning.Create evidence-based protocols and establish Centers of Excellence (COEs) throughout the system, working with Hospital Chairs, Chiefs, and Presidents to implement and maintain these protocols.Ensure quality patient experiences and drive performance improvement initiatives.Identify and prioritize campus-specific expansion opportunities that align with service line and organizational strategic goals.Enhance the academic and research profile of the organization and participate in system-wide committees, including service line-specific meetings and new site development opportunities.Compensation and Benefits:A comprehensive benefits package that includes various medical plans, life insurance, generous paid time off, and flexible spending accounts.Tuition reimbursement, an employer-funded pension plan, and multiple savings plan options for future financial security.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a dynamic healthcare environment.Potential for academic appointments at nearby prestigious academic institutions.This salary range is a good faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on various factors, including the candidate's education, training, skills, licensure, certification, competencies, and relevant experience.
