GOLF COURSE GROUNDS STAFF

Position Overview:Under the daily direction of the Golf Course Assistant Superintendent, the Golf Course Grounds Staff team member performs routine tasks involved in golf course maintenance. This team member will mow and trim assigned areas with proper equipment and training, properly rake and maintain sand bunkers, hand water turf and other plant materials as instructed, assist in aerification, verticutting, topdressing, tree and brush removal, and any other practice deemed necessary to promote healthy golf course turf.Essential Job Functions:Tri-Plex mow greens, tees, and collars as instructed to maintain a high quality playing surface.Mow and maintain golf course fairways and roughs using top line golf course equipment.Complete daily golf course set-up tasks (empty trash cans, move tee blocks, fill water coolers).Operate string trimmers, rotary mowers and other small maintenance equipment.Maintain sand bunkers by raking, edging, pulling weeds and removing stones and debris.Soil and seed divots and other damaged areas of the golf course.Hand water necessary turf areas as directed.Cut and remove trees and brush from golf course as directed.Assist in the labor involved with in-house golf course construction and renovation projects.Load, unload and handle golf course maintenance materials.Participate in the maintenance, upkeep and cleanliness of the golf course maintenance facility.Communicates any job/service related incidents to supervision in a timely manner.Completes all other property grounds maintenance tasks deemed necessary by management.Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.Essential Requirements:Must be able to perform each of the essential functions and responsibilities satisfactorily.Must be a minimum 18 years of age or older upon employment.Must be mechanically inclined and able operate/learn to operate variety of power equipment.Basic understanding of golf course layout and how to conduct one's self while on a golf course.Flexible to work any scheduled shifts and/or days, including weekends and holidays.ADA Requirements:The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
