Payroll Analyst II

Location: Houston, TX (100% onsite)Duration: 5-month initial contract (potential for full-time conversion)Pay Range: $38-43/hrSchedule: Standard business hoursW2 OnlyPosition OverviewThe Payroll Analyst is responsible for administering payroll processes, including employee wages, benefits, tax withholdings, and other related payments. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll activities.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and validate payroll calculations (wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions) using an enterprise payroll systemVerify accuracy of employee time and attendance records approved by supervisorsMaintain organized payroll records, including employee elections, changes, and supporting documentationComplete required federal and state forms for new hires, employee changes, and terminationsAdminister wage garnishments and tax levies in compliance with applicable regulationsSupport quarterly and year-end payroll processes (e.g., 940/941 filings, W-2s)Assist with audits, system testing, and internal/external reporting requestsProvide timely support while handling inquiries and resolving payroll-related issues professionallyBuild and maintain effective working relationships across teamsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 3 years of payroll experienceExperience in high-volume payroll environmentsStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and solve problemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related fieldPayroll certifications (e.g., CPP, FPC) or CPA designationKnowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsExperience with Oracle Payroll systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and data analysis)Payroll tax experienceAdditional InformationParking reimbursement: up to $100/monthExperience level: 3-5 years ...
