Route Supervisor
Operations Supervisor, Field Transportation The Operations Supervisor, Field Transportation is a customer-focused delivery leader responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations and supporting route execution in a small facility or department. This role works closely with the leader to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery service. This hands-on leadership role will direct and coach delivery drivers, leverage performance metrics, safety standards, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and actively support business growth through customer visits and sharing sales leads. May be required to perform day to day activities such as delivery, moving vehicles, etc.Primary Responsibilities:Operations Management:Oversee daily transportation and/or distribution operations for the assigned facility or satellite locationSupervise route execution, delivery schedules, and workflow efficiencyMonitor productivity, service levels, and operational accuracy to ensure KPIs are achievedProvide hands-on operational support as needed, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, loading, and deliveryPeople Leadership:Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of drivers and operations coworkersConduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedbackManage staffing levels and allocate resources based on business volume and operational needsCommunicate effectively with team members and promote an open, collaborative work environmentSafety & Compliance:Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsConduct safety audits and lead ongoing safety training initiativesMonitor driver performance, safety metrics, and DOT compliance standardsCustomer & Business Support:Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and third-party carriersAddress service issues and ensure a positive customer experienceIdentify potential business opportunities and share leads with the sales team when appropriateContinuous Improvement:Evaluate processes and identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency, and cost managementImplement operational improvements to optimize workflows and labor utilizationAdjust staffing, schedules, and routing based on changing business needsEducation and Experience:Level of Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelors preferredMinimum Years of Experience: 2Type of Experience: Logistics, delivery, distribution or warehouse operations.Special Certifications:Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no moving violations within the past 36 months)Class B CDL may be required based on vehicle size and state regulationsCDL required for operating vehicles over 26,000 lbs.
