Our firm also takes on a range of public interest work for international non-profit clients and occasional assignments under the Criminal Justice Act from the Office of the Federal Defender for the District of Columbia.In addition to our legal practice, we actively pursue rule of law initiatives and projects that support justice system development domestically and internationally through our consulting firm, Good Ground International.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and proactive Office Manager & International Development Proposal Specialist to oversee daily office operations while also supporting the firm’s growth through the development of compelling business proposals—particularly for rule of law development projects. If the candidate is interested, the opportunity to manage or assist with the implementation of projects won is also available. This is a unique hybrid role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is equally comfortable managing administrative systems and crafting persuasive written content.Key ResponsibilitiesOffice ManagementOversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring efficiency and professionalismManage scheduling, calendars, and internal communicationsCoordinate with vendors, IT support, and service providersMaintain office systems, supplies, and recordsSupport HR-related functions such as onboarding and personnel coordinationAssist attorneys with administrative and operational needsProposal Development & Business SupportResearch and identify opportunities for rule of law and legal development projectsDraft, edit, and format proposals, concept notes, and responses to RFPs/RFQsCollaborate with attorneys to gather technical input and translate it into clear, compelling narrativesMaintain a library of proposal materials, templates, and past submissionsTrack deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposalsSupport strategic business development effortsQualificationsBachelor’s degree required (pre-law, public policy, international development, or related field preferred)2+ years of experience in international development fieldDemonstrated experience in proposal writing, grant writing, or business developmentStrong writing, editing, and research skillsExceptional organizational and multitasking abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage competing prioritiesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in a law firm or international development organizationFamiliarity with rule of law, international development, or government contractingExperience with donor-funded or government-funded project proposals (e.g., USAID, DOJ, etc.)How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and cover letter to Bsearby@searby.law and Nledesma@searby.law.
