Overview As Controller at M Social Times Square, you will lead the hotel’s financial operations to safeguard assets and improve profitability. You’ll provide financial guidance to management, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain strong internal controls in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will drive capital planning, regulatory compliance, and performance analysis to support decision-making. ResponsibilitiesManage cash flow, including cash flow statements and depositsMonitor revenues/expenses; analyze variances and propose improvementsSupport capital planning and ROI calculations for improvementsEnsure compliance with licenses, permits, contracts, and taxesAnalyze financial data to support management objectivesReconcile balance sheets and bank statements timelyEstablish and audit internal controls across purchasing, cash handling, payroll, and assetsSupport recruitment and development of Finance leadership and staffOversee staff training and adherence to Accounting CompetenciesEnsure equipment maintenance and upgradesPrepare and deliver financial reports across weekly, monthly, and annual cyclesParticipate in meetings to maintain morale and efficiencyMonitor reporting deadlines and accuracy of daily operating reportsAttend required meetings and trainingsEnsure compliance with standards and safe operationsOccasionally perform other duties as requested by management Key requirementsMinimum of 6 years in hotel accounting or related field or a 4-year degree with Accounting/Finance concentration plus 2 years of related experience or a 2-year degree with 4 years of related experienceProficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, word processing, and hotel-specific systemsAbility to work long hours and lift up to 25 pounds as neededStrong verbal and written communication skills and customer-service orientationMultitasking and prioritization to meet deadlinesConfidentiality and problem-solving abilitiescommunicationleadershipteamworkWindowsExcel (spreadsheets)hotel-specific financial systems
