Working in close collaboration with principals and the studio team, this individual will contribute meaningfully to the design excellence that defines our work.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute original design ideas and creative problem-solving throughout all phases of residential projects, from early concept through constructionSupport the production of design, construction, and construction administration documents in alignment with firm standards and direction from senior leadershipCoordinate and communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors to produce detailed architectural documentationResearch, select, and detail materials that align with design intent and comply with applicable codes and regulationsDevelop schematic designs thatdemonstratesolutions to the project program and architectural criteriaPrepares presentation materials that clearly and compellingly communicate design ideas and proposalsProactively manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects while meeting established schedules and deadlinesQualificationsB.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited program6-8 years of professional architectural experience with strong residential design experienceProfessional licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferredStrong design instincts with the skill to transform conceptual ideas into thoughtful architectural solutionsA design-forward mindset, led by curiosity, creativity, and a dedication to high-quality residential workPassion for residential design, a growth mindset, and an entrepreneurial approach to contributing to the firm's technical and professional developmentAbility to work independently, proactively manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgmentHighly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with strong communication skills.Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop)Working knowledge of Revit is a plusHand drawing and sketching skills are a plusKnowledge of other applicable design and project management programs beneficialStrong understanding of construction documentation, wood-frame construction, and residential detailingExposure to or experience with sustainability practices (passive house, LEED, WELL standards) is a plusWhy Hutker?Because you will do meaningful work, take on real responsibility, and grow through hands-on involvement in the full process of designing and realizing thoughtful residential architecture.Hutker Architects is a firm of 60 professionals in four offices across Massachusetts.
