Construction Manager (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and driven construction professional to oversee and manage all aspects of data center construction activities at our Annapolis Junction, Maryland facility. This onsite role is central to ensuring that construction operations are executed with precision, safety, and quality, while aligning with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to champion best interests at every stage of the construction lifecycle. Job Responsibilities: Oversee all construction activities from constructability, scheduling, QA/QC, and safety standpoints on an active data center construction site Coordinate projects by developing detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients and internal stakeholders Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate staff work while overseeing the development and maintenance of team competence Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures Review, recommend, and approve contracts and cost estimates Maintain and track construction schedules using P6 and Bluebeam to ensure milestones are met Enforce compliance with safety standards including PPE requirements and site safety protocols Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to support organizational best interests throughout the project lifecycle Proactively identify risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement across all construction phases Requirements: 8 to 10 years of experience in construction management required Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects such as data centers or mission-critical facilities Proven track record of managing construction activities across schedule, QA/QC, safety, and constructability disciplines Experience working with cross-functional stakeholder groups in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, or a related field PMI or PMP certification preferred OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training strongly preferred Must comply with all required PPE standards including Class 2 safety helmet and vest, ANSI Z87.1 safety glasses, cut and impact resistant gloves, and composite toe work boots extending a minimum of 4 inches above the ankle Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail Ability to work independently and effectively manage time in a high-demand onsite environment Deep knowledge of construction management principles including constructability review, QA/QC, and safety management Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and cost management techniques Proficiency in business and management principles including strategic planning and resource allocation Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio Experience with Bluebeam for document management and markup Experience with Primavera P6 for construction scheduling (preferred) Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and align multiple stakeholders Growth-oriented and proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement Additional Details: Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (Onsite) Duration: 12 months Pay Range*: $77 - $87.50 per hour Weekly Schedule: 40 hours Job Status: Non-Exempt Application Deadline: Apply within 72 hours of the posting date to ensure consideration.
