Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Summer Camp Counselor at Camp Olympia, located in Trinity, Texas. The position involves supervising and engaging with campers, organizing and leading recreational activities, and ensuring safety throughout the camp experience. Counselors are responsible for creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere, fostering camaraderie among campers, and providing mentorship and guidance. Daily responsibilities include communicating effectively with staff and campers, promoting teamwork, enforcing camp policies, and contributing to a fun and supportive environment. Qualifications Experience or enthusiasm for working in a camp environment, including planning and conducting activitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills to build connections with campers, parents, and fellow staff membersRelevant certifications such as lifeguarding or first aid are preferredBackground in education or youth leadership is a plusAbility to be a positive role model and create an inclusive and supportive environmentAdaptability, patience, and problem-solving skills in dynamic situationsCommitment to the mission and values of Camp Olympia
