Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and strong cardiac and telemetry skills.Job Details• 30-bed private-room Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a community hospital setting,• Primary patient population includes Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, rule-out MI, syncope, and pacemaker placement,• Secondary focus on respiratory patients including COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP-dependent patients,• Patient ratio is 1:4 for patients on drips or BiPAP, and 1:5 otherwise,• Rooms are remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD),• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM,• Weekend rotation required; holiday coverage as needed,• Scheduling is conducted over a 6-week period via a self-scheduling system (Optilink), distributed based on departmental need, patient acuity, skill mix, and previous assignments,• EMR: Epic (experience required),• Nurse Assistants available 24/7; RN Secretary on duty 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM,• Float to other campus locations within the health system may be required,Job Requirements• Active RN license - NC or Compact license required and must be in hand prior to consideration,• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred,• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,• Cardiac PCU experience required; comfort with 1:5 patient ratios required,• Epic EMR experience required,• Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring (on-unit), pre/post cardiac catheterization care, peripheral line and PICC line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management with and without titration, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP management, and tracheostomy management,• Preferred skills: use of Rapid Response Teams, previous Charge RN experience,• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible,• A valid driver's license (DL) is required for consideration to verify candidate address,• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,Additional Information• All RNs are required to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during the compliance process, regardless of specialty - two attempts are allowed; study materials are not provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance,• Orientation modules are unit-based and average 2-4 hours; module hours will vary,• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences,• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
