We serve more than 22,000 students in more than 30 schools and span six municipalities, covering more than 220 square miles.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are seeking a Campus Behavior Coordinator (CBC) who can lead, coordinate, and continuously improve campus systems that support student behavior, wellness, and overall school climate. The CBC will serve as the campus lead for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), student discipline systems, and wellness initiatives.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success improving student behavior outcomes, implementing proactive systems of support, and building a positive, structured school culture that maximizes learning time. You must be able to balance strong systems for accountability and discipline with preventative and restorative approaches that support student growth.This role is not an assistant principal position, yet it requires strong leadership, systems thinking, and the ability to influence adults and students across the campus. Serve as a role model for all campus staff.Support the Principal in developing and setting annual campus performance objectives and ensuring progress towards the student outcomes based measures.Support the development of the campus improvement plan with staff, parents and community members.Delegate leadership responsibilities as appropriate, ensuring strong systems of monitoring, support, and feedback for campus staff.System Leadership:Serve as the campus lead for behavior systems, student support structures, and climate initiatives.Support the Principal in establishing a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.Develop and monitor goals related to student behavior, attendance, and school climate.Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the campus MTSS framework for behavior.Oversee PBIS implementation, including expectations, incentives, systems, and staff training.Coordinate and monitor Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavior supports and interventions.Develop and maintain systems for tracking behavior, discipline, attendance, and intervention data.Ensure consistent and equitable implementation of the Student Code of Conduct.Coordinate student discipline processes, including investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions.Support restorative practices and alternative discipline approaches when appropriate.Collaborate with counselors and support staff to address student wellness, mental health, and behavioral needs.Identify students in need of additional support and coordinate interventions.Support dropout prevention and attendance improvement efforts.Use data to evaluate effectiveness of behavior systems and adjust as needed.Promote the expectation for high-level performance from staff and students and recognize excellence and achievement.Provide professional learning to support the teaching staff in accomplishing the school's behavioral goals.Disaggregate and interpret data in order to assist in developing appropriate next steps for campus improvement.Serve as a member of the campus-based Instructional Leadership Team & site-based decision-making committee, and others as assigned.Professional Learning Community (PLC's)Support campus PLCs by providing data, strategies, and guidance related to student behavior and engagement.Provide training and support to teachers on classroom management, PBIS, and behavior interventions.Develop and lead a strong Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) for the campus.Collaborate with campus leadership teams to align behavior systems with instructional priorities.Effective FeedbackProvide coaching and support to teachers and staff on behavior management and intervention strategies.Conduct classroom visits to support implementation of PBIS and behavior expectations.Provide actionable feedback to improve consistency and effectiveness of classroom management practices.Regularly consult the Instructional Leadership Team about planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of campus education programs. Include students and community representatives when appropriate.Culture & ClimateCreate, cultivate and lead a culture of excellence, support, and community for all stakeholders.Work with faculty and students to develop a student behavioral support system that results in positive student and staff behavior and enhances the school climate.Support conflict resolution and restorative practices.Identify, analyze, and apply research findings (e.g., effective school correlates) to promote school improvement.Enhance students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic achievement.Ensure students feel safe, supported, and connected to the school community.Act as campus behavior coordinator in accordance with state laws and regulations (as assigned).Ensure that school rules are uniformly applied and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.Follow all policies, practices, and procedures that create optimal learning conditions for students with special needs in alignment with IDEAConduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods.Personnel ManagementSupport campus leadership in training staff on behavior systems and expectations.Assist in monitoring staff implementation of behavior systems and provide feedback as needed.Ensure accurate documentation on any and all recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline and dismissal.Work with campus-level planning and decision-making committees to plan professional development activities.School or Community RelationsArticulate the school's mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.Communicate with parents, families, and communities on a regular and consistent basis to ensure clear and consistent messaging to parents on both campus and district information and eventsEngage with parents, families, and community members to increase parental involvement on the campusDemonstrate awareness of school and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities FunctionsSupport the Principal in planning daily school activities.Ensure all employees follow proper protocols to maintain accurate records (i.e. discipline, attendance, other required documentation)Ensure that all administrative duties and tasks delegated by the Principal are completed in a timely manner to ensure alignment to state and local policiesCompile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required including accurate and timely reports..Support safety inspections and drills.Report any and all facilities issues that present a safety concern on the campus.Work with the Principal, faculty and staff to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needsManage use of school facilities. Ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services as assigned.Comply with district policies, state and federal laws and regulations affecting schools.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesAs delegated by the Principal (usually, will not supervise staff).WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical DemandsTypical demands of a school environment, including extensive computer use and district-wide travel for meetings and events. Lifting and carrying of books, boxes, and audiovisual equipment, light (15-20 pounds), climbing, stretching, visual acuity, walking, pulling, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, sitting, kneeling, standing, and twisting, may be required to control behavior through physical restraint.Work EnvironmentPrimarily school-based with regular interaction with district staff, educators, students, families, and community members. Campus visits will be required as needed and as a part of ensuring program implementation with fidelity and monitoring of service delivery models. Attendance at evening or weekend events may be required.
