Job DetailsFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech for a 13 week travel assignment in Grand Junction, CO. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:Successful completion of a sleep technology program.One year of recent experience as a polysomnographer/sleep tech requiredValid Sleep Technician/Polysomnography license in compliance with state regulations.Preferred Qualifications:* Registered Sleep Technologist Certification (CPSGT or RPSGT)* Other certifications and licenses may be required for this positionSummary:A polysomnographer/sleep tech conducts diagnostic sleep studies to evaluate and manage patients with sleep disorders. They prepare equipment, educate patients on procedures, monitor and record sleep data, and assist in analyzing results to aid in diagnosis and treatment.Essential Work Functions:Review patient history and verify ordersProvide education to patient and/or family members for either in-center or at-home testingFollow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate dataIdentify, correct, and document artifacts to maintain the integrity of the recorded dataDocument routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of resultsImplement appropriate interventions as necessaryAssist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical eventsFollow sleep center policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned within the scope of a Polysomnographer/Sleep TechnicianRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is requiredAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
