Our mission is to solve real business challenges, reduce operational complexities, and foster a collaborative, team-driven environment that promotes mutual growth and success.We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our WorldQuant Aligned Infrastructure team and work closely with our quantitative researchers to build, extend, and maintain the systems that power their research and production workflows. This is a hands-on software engineering role where you'll be writing production-quality code (primarily in Python, with some C++) and partnering directly with quants to translate complex ideas into robust, performant software.ResponsibilitiesDesign, code and implement proprietary systems and tools to help bring research ideas to life, and have a real business impactCollaborate daily with quantitative researchers to understand their needs and turn them into well-engineered solutionsContribute across the stack, primarily in Python with some work in C++Work through complex algorithmic and data-structure problems where correctness and performance both matterParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and promote engineering best practicesCommunicate trade-offs and technical decisions clearly with both engineers and quantsIdeal CandidateA strong software engineer who cares deeply about code quality, correctness, and clear thinkingSomeone who enjoys working alongside domain experts and can hold their own in technical discussions on both sidesDriven by curiosity, always ready to learn new things and dig into unfamiliar problemsA collaborative team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skillsRequired Skills / ExperienceStrong Python skills - you're fluent, idiomatic, and can tackle complex programming challenges with confidenceStrong foundation in data structures and algorithms - you can reason about complexity, pick the right approach, and implement it cleanlyDemonstrable problem solving abilities, insight, and judgment as well as a strong attention to detailAbility to communicate complex technical concepts clearly with quants and other engineers - this is non-negotiable; a large part of the job is bridging the gap between research ideas and production codeExperience working in Linux environment, at an advanced user levelPreference / Nice to haveSome C++ experience - you'll be expected to contribute to portions of the codebase written in C++, so comfort reading and writing C++ (or strong willingness and ability to ramp up quickly) is a real plusPrior exposure to quantitative finance, scientific computing, or any environment where engineers work closely with researchersExperience contributing to performance-sensitive or numerically oriented codeThe estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
