More than 900 providers and physicians provide 1.5 million patient visits a year coordinated through an integrated electronic health record.This is a full-time, benefitted position generally working 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is located at the Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla, and you will float between the cardiology specialties within that site. Your Job DutiesWork both back-office and front-office dutiesRooming patients & checking vitalsClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographicsRequired QualificationsCompletion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant Certification BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred QualificationsOne year of previous MA experience in CardioAt Scripps Health, you will experience the pride, support and respect of an organization that has been repeatedly recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 Places to Work.You’ll be surrounded by people committed to making a difference in the lives of their patients and their teammates.
