Equipment Operator/Laborer

Heavy Equipment OperatorSummary: This job involves operating a wide variety of heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, backhoes and forklifts that perform the compaction and preparation of commercial and residential waste to be disposed of at local landfills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperating heavy equipment safely, productively and efficiently in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; maintains accurate records.Moves and compacts materials into trailers using heavy equipment.Responsible for meeting and continue to meet all DOT mandated physical, and drug and alcohol testing requirements.Reports for all schedule work shifts before scheduled starting time, and works until scheduled stopping time, as required.Accurate completion of paperwork daily.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Performs emergency response activities as needed.Ensures proper use of equipment and immediately notifies supervisor of any issues with equipment.Maintains MEI's core values.Attend MEI's Saturday safety meetings once every other month.Quick and immediate response when on call 24/7 every 5th week.Emergency response clean-up; remediation work; installation of new or repairing existing sewer/water lines; familiarity with design and construction details; final grading of excavation areas as needed.Wear and properly use a variety of levels A-D of personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Education, Training and ExperienceValid driver's license.Must have a Class B CDL.
