Position SummaryPrometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner to federal health agencies. We are seeking a Principal Consultant to lead strategic growth and client engagement across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This candidate will work closely with internal teams and federal healthcare clients to develop integrated program solutions and oversee project execution across multiple capability areas.This role is responsible for driving business development, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding existing contracts. The ideal candidate will bring a deep expertise in federal healthcare operations, particularly within VHA, and a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver strategic solutions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership & DeliveryOwn and manage senior-level federal client relationships, serving as a trusted strategic advisorLead project planning and execution across complex engagement, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and client expectationsAnticipate client needs and deliver innovative, actionable solutions that create measurable valueOversee project risk management, issue resolution, and delivery quality across multidisciplinary teamsFinancial & Portfolio ManagementManage a portfolio of federal health engagements, with accountability for revenue performance, utilization, and profitabilityOversee staffing plans, resource allocation, and financial management for contractsEnsure delivery aligns with contractual requirements, company expectations, and profitability targetsGrowth & Business DevelopmentAssess new opportunities and support pursuit decisions based on strategic fit and viabilityParticipate in capture activities for active bids, including color team reviews and capture planningContribute to proposal development, including technical approach, past performance, and staffing strategiesSupport new, add-on, and follow-on sales efforts with existing client accountsPeople Leadership & CultureLead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentorship, and stretch assignmentsIdentify and develop a diverse pipeline of high-potential consultants and future leadersPromote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementContribute to firm-wide initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, improve operations, and reinforce delivery excellenceMinimum QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related fieldMinimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience in federal healthcare, government consulting, or program/project managementDemonstrated experience leading complex federal engagements and managing multidisciplinary teamsExperience overseeing project financials, staffing models, and delivery performanceActive PMP certificationProven ability to mentor staff and build high-performing teamsExperience supporting business development activities, including capture and proposal effortsFamiliarity with VHA or other related healthcare systemsStrong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsAdvanced proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suiteAbility to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorshipAbility to obtain a public trust
