Withum professionals help clients make forward thinking decisions about strategy, operations and compliance and create long-lasting value.We are currently seeking an Associate focused on valuations to facilitate lending decisions to join Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group. The Valuation Associate can be based out of any of our U.S. office locations. This is a hybrid position. The in-office expectation is a hybrid schedule (3 days in office expectation per week).The Associate will work within our Lender Services group performing valuations for banks making both SBA and Commercial lending decisions. Successful candidates will begin their careers focused on Lender Services but will have the opportunity to gain exposure to other facets of our valuation practice. Additionally, Associates assist in projects related to economic and statistical analysis, model validation, database management, and other ad hoc quantitative assignments.Withum’s brand is a reflection of our people, our culture and our strength. Additionally, they may assist on valuations for tax purposes, financial reporting and advisory purposes (enterprise values, stock options, warrants, convertible debt, equity allocations across complex capital structures, and other complex securities/derivatives) primarily in Excel dependent upon background and experienceCompleting data entry of tax returns and financial statements into Excel modelsAssisting in writing and preparing reports, letters, and other client deliverablesAssisting in review of third-party appraisals for audit support purposesPerforming macroeconomic and industry researchReviewing various agreements, documents, research papers, and market research with the intent of capturing salient points to be used for modeling purposes and clearly communicating the key drivers to othersAssisting in the development, maintenance, and application of various models using ExcelReviewing and gaining a sufficient understanding of the necessary tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysisThe kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, accounting, or similar quantitative disciplineUnderstanding of equity valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple, and market transaction1-2 years’ relevant experience focused on valuation workUnderstanding of financial statements and business tax returns requiredProgress towards external designations such as CFA, CVA, CPA/ABV, or ASA a plusStrong interest in quantitative and economic analysisAdvanced knowledge of Excel preferredAbility to program in VBA and/or other statistical package a plusCapacity to work independently on projectsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skillsThe compensation for this position ranges from $65,000-$90,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
