OPERATING ROOM TECH (OR TECH)

Description-OPERATING ROOM TECH OR TECHFull-Time The Operating Room Tech will have the following job responsibilities:Assembles supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.Prepares sterile instrument table as well as gathering equipment after procedure for cleaning and sterilization.Accurately completes all sponge, sharp, and instrument counts and reports all discrepancies to the nurse or surgeon.Positions patient accordingly to type of surgery.Prepares patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards.Provides comfort and support pre-operative patients.Transports patients to and from surgical suite.Assists the surgical team in surgical procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.Cleans and prepares room between procedures and after last case; restocks supplies when necessary and organizes effectively for end of case clean up.Maintains a safe work area.Performs other duties as assigned.Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" and "Mission and Value Statement."Job Qualifications-OPERATING ROOM TECHOR TECHFull-TimeThe Operating Room Tech must meet the following minimum job qualifications:Minimum high school diploma or equivalentOperating Room Scrub Technician Certification (CST) Preferred Completion of an Accredited Surgical Scrub Technician Program or experience working as a scrub techCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateMinimum of one year of surgery experience preferredSkilled in all surgical service lines: General, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Urology, Gynecology, and ENT
