That's how we’re able to make a difference, and it's the driving force behind everything we do. The Volunteer Onboarding Specialist is primarily responsible for developing and executing strategies to support an excellent onboarding experience for YouVersion volunteers. This role will work cross-functionally with YouVersion Volunteer Managers (staff) and their teams to establish a standardized volunteer onboarding and screening process, conduct screening calls, and facilitate training with volunteer applicants. The specialist utilizes their skillset to deliver outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.What You'll DoLead Volunteer OnboardingPartner with YouVersion Volunteer Operations, Community Care, and Team Leaders to build a centralized volunteer onboarding workflow.Refine and implement organization-wide YouVersion volunteer onboarding communication.Scale the volunteer onboarding process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Track onboarding timeline from application to engaged.Act as the primary point of contact for volunteers, ensuring timely communication during the onboarding process.Manage Volunteer Screening & Training ProcessExecute introductory screening calls during the volunteer onboarding process, providing insight into YouVersion values and beliefs.Ensure volunteer onboarding rosters stay up-to-date with accurate and complete information, confirmed during onboarding.Ensure all volunteers have completed the necessary steps in the screening process, serving as a reference check for applicant background checks.Develop a system to transition relationship management to Volunteer Managers once a volunteer is onboarded.Ensure volunteer training materials stay updated with relevant information.Skills Needed to SucceedMaintain a systematic and organized approach to completing assignments accurately, thoroughly, and timely.Strong administrative skills.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.Effective at multi-tasking, time and process management follow-up, ensuring teams are doing the same.Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently.Clearly explain complicated and detailed processes in a concise and straightforward way.High school diploma or GED.1-3 years of related work experience.Benefits We OfferPaid parental leave, including maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.Generous employer-paid leave for the use of vacation, sick time, and other qualifying reasons. Innovative and comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance that provides team members with useful resources and savings to navigate their holistic health. Life insurance policy provided for all staff members at 2x annual salary at no cost.
