Job Title: Plumbing DesignerJob DescriptionA consulting engineering firm in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Plumbing Designer to support the design and documentation of plumbing systems as part of an integrated MEP engineering team. This position focuses on the design of domestic water, sanitary, storm, and related plumbing systems for commercial and institutional building projects. The Plumbing Designer will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineers, contributing to coordinated construction documents and supporting projects from early design through construction.ResponsibilitiesDesign plumbing systems including domestic water distribution, sanitary drainage, storm drainage, and specialty plumbing systems.Prepare plumbing drawings, layouts, riser diagrams, and details for full MEP construction document sets.Coordinate plumbing designs with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and structural disciplines.Assist with plumbing code research and application to ensure compliance with local and national standards.Support engineers during design development and construction documentation phases.Respond to plan review comments, RFIs, and design revisions during construction.Participate in internal coordination meetings and maintain clear communication across project teams.Essential SkillsExperience designing plumbing systems within an MEP consulting engineering environment.Working knowledge of commercial building plumbing systems, including domestic water.Proficiency with Revit.Understanding of applicable plumbing codes and standards.Ability to produce accurate, well-coordinated construction documents.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Experience supporting commercial, institutional, or renovation projects.Familiarity with multi-discipline coordination in an MEP firm.Interest in long-term growth within the MEP consulting engineering field.Work EnvironmentThis position is based on-site in Dayton, Ohio, requiring presence 5 days a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, offering flexible work hours and flexible PTO.
