Positional Summary:
Provide general engineering support for an electronics assembly manufacturing Process Development and Reliability Laboratory.
Job requires hands-on manufacturing of electronic assemblies.
Work alongside professional engineering staff and with skilled technician support.
Following detailed instructions for tool operation and manual assembly processes. \
Acute powers of observation, disciplined data collection and documentation will be important.
Electronic assembly reliability evaluation skills will also be used. These include environmental thermal chamber operation, test circuit wiring, automated event detection and failure isolation.
Follow-up failure analyses may be required: dye & pry analysis, cross-sectioning, simple microscopy, and metallography.
Attributes:
Disciplined data collection.
Able to accurately document process details, assembly yields and failure observations in concise but complete customer reports.
Presentation skills to share research results with a professional audience are also desirable.
Education:
Completed three years of study toward BS degree in Physics, Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering. Degree completion is preferred.
Desired Skills:
Routine data collection, automated tool operation, AutoCAD, Minitab (or equivalent statistical package), MS Office suite, general data manipulation and statistics.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
Physical Demands:
Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
Requires the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and in giving presentations.

Target Pay Rate: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr Straight Rate
