Technology Aide
Primary Purpose: The Technology Aide provides essential support for the district's technology infrastructure and empowers faculty with valuable digital skills. Qualifications: Education/Certification:High school diploma or equivalent required.Associates degree or technical certification in IT, Computer Science or related field preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills:Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows operating systems and common software applicationsProficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. Experience:Proven experience in PC and Chromebook hardware and software troubleshooting and repair.2 years' experience or demonstrated ability to train adult learners on technology concepts. Major Responsibilities and Duties: PC and Chromebook RepairDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software issues for Windows PCs and Chromebooks.Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and component replacements.Install software applications, and drivers.Manage inventory of technology equipment and parts. Technical Training and SupportDevelop and deliver engaging training sessions for teachers on the effective use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Provide one-on-one and small group training on Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).Offer ongoing technical support and guidance to staff regarding technology integration in the classroom. General Technology SupportAssist with network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.Support audio-visual equipment setup and operation for presentations and events.Collaborate with the IT department on larger technology projects and initiatives.Maintain a clean and organized technology workspace. Supervisory Responsibilities:None Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used:Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals Posture:Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting Motion:Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching Lifting:Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds) Environment:Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day; may be exposed to electrical hazards.
