Shipping Coordinator
Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for the loading of all Paradigm Windows Solutions trucks, ensuring orders are complete, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, resolving any load report issues, and driving trucks and forklifts (for transporting materials, as required). Actively assists interpreting job orders to other loading members employees and reports any problems to leadership.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm. Some shifts may run over scheduled out time. Mandatory overtime on Saturdays and Sundays per business demands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs all loading activities including verification of complete orders and ensures that no products are damaged.
Ensures carts are made and ready for packaging and returns carts to the appropriate locations when empty.
Sorts complete product inventory.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
Interacts with vendors and customers in a positive and professional manner.
Must keep shipping area organized according to layout set up by warehouse management and according to existing 6S Standards.
Operates departmental vehicles as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of direct warehouse environment experience. Knowledge of material procedures, shipping procedures and truck loading.
Proficient in using a variety of computer applications and warehouse logistic systems, with the ability to navigate and utilize computer systems and software efficiently. Comfortable working with technology and adapting to new systems as needed.
Must possess skills to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely and be able to coordinate effectively with management, other supervisors, employees, and the public.
Ability to work under pressure, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
Assists in training and developing new team members.
Ability to work through routine discomforts from exposure to moderate levels of heat, cold from working in the warehouse facility.
Knowledge of safe work habits necessary for departmental staff to perform their duties injury free such as proper lifting techniques and use of company equipment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Thorough knowledge of material procedures, shipping procedures and truck loading.
High school education or GED.
Experience operating pallet jack, and forklift preferred. Position will be trained and certified on appropriate equipment.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50-75 pounds and possess the ability to judge when help is needed. Considerable physical exertion is required involving bending, stooping, lifting or carrying heavy items.
Must be able to work in a loud and fast paced environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for 10 hours.
Effective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
While performing the essential duties of this job the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Temperatures can be hot or cold according to the season.
Must have good hand dexterity and attention to detail.
