Stabilization Operator I

Reports to: Stabilization Team Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exemptThe Erlen Group of companies exist to maximize long-term shareholder value by providing goods and services with honesty, integrity and fairness to our team, our communities and our clients.Stabilization Operator 1 Summary:This position is part of a Team responsible for the long-term stabilization of the limestone mine structure. The person occupying this position will ensure a safe and structurally sound facility through the execution of an engineered mine plan consisting of a variety of ground stabilization methods. The person occupying this position is expected to represent the Erlen Group in a professional and courteous manner.Stabilization Operator 1 Duties/Responsibilities:Inspect rock columns and ceilings predominantly in an undeveloped underground mineRemove loose material found on rock surfaces by hand scaling and/or with a mechanical scaling machine in a safe mannerOperate various types of heavy equipment and mining equipmentAssist with ground stabilization methods, i.e., roof bolting, roof mats, shotcrete, grout injection, pillar wraps, etc.Perform preventative maintenance or other minor repairs to ensure that equipment is in good working orderPerform work in a safe manner and comply with safety programs and policiesStabilization Operator 1 Skills/Abilities:High level of comfort with scaling/mining operations, heights, and physical exertionAttention to detail and heightened awareness of safetySelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyStrong verbal communicationStrong problem solving skillsStabilization Operator 1 Education/Experience:Required: Valid Drivers' LicensePreferred: Underground mining experiencePreferred: Heavy equipment operator with a valid CDLStabilization Operator 1 Physical and/or Travel Requirements:Frequent lifting of up to 80 poundsLong periods of overhead work must be toleratedThe ability to bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of timeStabilization Operator 1 Benefits:Paid time off and HolidaysSimplified Employee Pension PlanHealth InsuranceGroup Life InsuranceTuition ReimbursementGallup Leadership Development trainingErlen Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
