Receiving Lead
Under the guidance of the Operations Manager this associate will be responsible for accurately receiving and recording products shipped to Armor Animal Health. In addition, this team player will assist the Operations Manager in leading and mentoring employees and looking for ways to improve processes in the Receiving/Returns Department.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential job functions at a satisfactory level. Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited, to: Lead and mentor receiving department employees: Develop and administer SOP's for all receiving/return protocolsTrain employees using standard operating proceduresMonitor errors and resolve procedural problems Coordinating staffing needs with fellow department headsMatch products to packing slips, check lots and expiration dates, watch for special orders and deal with any issues that arise regarding shipmentsProperly match packing slips to purchase ordersDetermine proper locations for new products and supervise the placement of products in the warehouseManage vendor and customer returns and repairsLabel products that are not clearly markedMaintain oversight on expiration dates on productsManage all quarantine and defective productsCoordinate vendor credits with sales and accounting departmentsAlways represent VSI in a professional manner.Excellent attendance and dependability are essential requirements of this job. Can work overtime as needed/required.Establishes and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, management, customers, and vendors/suppliers.May be required to travel periodically.Maintain a professional demeanor, appearance and conduct at all times.Attends mandatory staff meetings and participates in group discussions.Performs other job-related job tasks, work assignments and/or special projects as directed/assigned by Management.QUALIFICATIONSThe employee must have experience and/or education as outlined below to satisfactorily perform the essential job duties and responsibilities. Qualifications may include, but are not limited, to: High School Diploma or equivalent GED certificate.One (1) or more years of work experience in manufacturing, warehouse distribution, or similar work environment preferred; orAny combination of experience, education, and training that will provide the level of knowledge, skills, and ability required for the job.The ability to work individually and as a team member.Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.Attention to detail.Effective problem solving, resolution skills, and ability to exercise good judgement.Ability to work efficiently in a fast pace and demanding work environment.Ability to handle multiple job duties with frequent interruptions.This position may require employee to operate Company provided vehicle or their own personal vehicle to conduct work-related business and therefore requires a valid drivers license, clean DMV record and current vehicle registration.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical demands and working conditions of this job may require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of the shift. Physical demands and working conditions may include, but are not limited, to: Required to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.May be routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift and reach, in the performance of job duties.Vision requirements include close and distance vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.Will frequently lift, push, or move individual products that weigh up to 50 lbs. and at times may be required to operate equipment to move a pallet weighing up to or over 2000 lbs.The noise level for this work environment is typically moderate to high.Warehouse temperature varies due to climate variations.
