About the RoleBuild and deliver business intelligence solutions on the Azure / Microsoft data stack for a manufacturing & distribution business.Turn complex operational, sales, and supply-chain data into clear, decision-ready dashboards and reports.Own both sides — data development (pipelines, models) and visualization (dashboards stakeholders actually use).Full-time, long-term role with room to grow as the data function matures.Key Responsibilities: Optimize the shopping path end-to-end — map and refine discovery → browse → product detail → cart → checkout, removing friction at each stage.Own information architecture & site organization — navigation, categories, collections, filtering, and taxonomy that scale with a large catalog.Lead cart & checkout optimization — reduce abandonment and increase completion using Shopify Plus checkout capabilities (Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, custom checkout UI).Apply progressive disclosure deliberately — surface the right information at the right moment without burying depth.Own visual craft — branding consistency, color management, and typography that reinforce hierarchy and guide the shopper.Design within the Shopify Plus ecosystem — themes, sections, apps; collaborate with developers on what's feasible and performant.Ground decisions in data — define hypotheses, run A/B tests, validate against conversion and engagement metrics.Build a scalable design system in Figma.Requirements:8+ years of e-commerce UX/UI design, with a clear track record of optimizing the shopping journey/pathway (conversion lift, reduced abandonment, improved task completion).Site organization & UX expert — strong information architecture with a clear point of view on when to organize vs. progressively disclose information.Manufacturing & distribution industry experience — understands complex catalogs, B2B/B2C buyer behavior, and high-SKU product structures.Demonstrated Shopify Plus experience — checkout, themes, apps, and ecosystem.Expert in Figma — design, prototyping, and design systems.Strong visual design — branding, color management, and typography.Technical fluency — comfortable with developers and front-end realities (HTML/CSS, responsive, performance).Strong communicator — explains and defends design decisions clearly.Nice to Haves:CRO / A/B testing tools (Optimizely, VWO, Shopify-native).Shopify Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, Liquid, or headless/Hydrogen.PIM experience.Accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design.
