This role plays a key part in aligning project pursuits with company profitability goals and long-term business strategy, while also supporting team development and cross-functional collaboration.What You Will be Doing:Lead estimating efforts for large-scale, high-risk, and complex projectsDevelop conceptual estimates and budgets with limited design informationEstablish labor strategies, productivity assumptions, and risk mitigation plansAnalyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify requirements and risksReview and approve estimates prepared by other estimatorsIdentify risks, assumptions, and cost-saving opportunities within estimatesCoordinate and negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricingCollaborate with operations, project managers, and leadership throughout project pursuitsRepresent the estimating team in planning discussions, customer meetings, and negotiationsIncorporate historical cost data and productivity analysis into estimatesTrack project budgets and compare estimated vs. actual costs for continuous improvementMaintain organized estimate documentation and backup filesSupport awarded projects, including change orders and creditsMentor and support development across the estimating teamEnsure compliance with company standards, policies, and core valuesKey Experience to Hit the Ground Running:10+ years of complex estimating experience, preferably in electrical commercial constructionStrong knowledge of electrical construction systems and industry practicesAdvanced proficiency in Accubid and estimating techniquesAdvanced understanding of NEC requirementsProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet bid deadlinesStrong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyDetail-oriented with strong organizational and logical problem-solving abilitiesWhat Would Really Make You Shine:Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience within an estimating teamExperience leading high-value, complex, or mission-critical project pursuitsStrong negotiation and influencing skills with customers and vendorsExperience partnering closely with operations and executive leadershipProven ability to improve estimating processes, standards, and outcomesStrategic mindset with a focus on long-term planning and business impactCommitment to the company's core values of Exceptional Work Ethic, Always Doing the Right Thing, Customer Service Driven, and Treating Our People Like Family.What Would Earn You Continued Career Growth and Development:Consistently delivering profitable, competitive, and high-quality bidsBecoming a trusted technical and pricing authority within the organizationStrengthening estimating standards, tools, and processes company-wideDeveloping and mentoring other estimators and contributing to team growthBuilding strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholdersContinuously improving accuracy through post-project analysis and lessons learnedFostering teamwork to make the dream work!This position does require in-office attendance daily.
