Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking an expert-level Senior/Staff Software Engineer with a proven track record of architecting, scaling, and maintaining mission-critical systems. In this contract role, you will own the technical execution of our core platform initiatives, working through ambiguous requirements to deliver high-performance, fault-tolerant software. You will serve as a technical anchor, driving architectural decisions, auditing code quality, and unblocking engineering hurdles to ensure predictable, high-velocity delivery.Core ResponsibilitiesSystem Architecture & Execution: Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and deployment of highly scalable, distributed backend systems and APIs using [Insert Core Language: e.g., Go / Python / Java / .NET].Platform Modernization: Deconstruct monolithic codebases into highly responsive, event-driven microservices [e.g., Kafka / RabbitMQ] and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost.Technical Governance: Set code standards and technical direction. Conduct rigorous code and architecture reviews to ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and reliability metrics.Blast-Radius Leadership: Diagnose and resolve complex production bottlenecks, synchronization failures, and distributed system anomalies under tight timelines.Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a peer to Product and Architecture leads. Translate high-level business goals into concrete technical implementation plans while proactively identifying scope risks.Required QualificationsTenure: 12+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering enterprise-grade, production-ready systems.Technical Depth: Deep, referenceable expertise in [Primary Language/Framework, e.g., C# .NET, Go, or Java/Spring Boot], with a strong understanding of concurrency, data modeling, and memory management.Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience architecting cloud ecosystems [AWS / GCP / Azure] using containerization [Docker, Kubernetes] and automated deployment pipelines [Terraform, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD].Data Proficiency: Strong architectural mastery over relational [PostgreSQL / MySQL] and non-relational [NoSQL / MongoDB] databases, including query optimization and schema design.Contract Ready: A proven background of jumping into unfamiliar, complex codebases and delivering immediate, high-quality technical outcomes with minimal onboarding.Nice to HaveExperience implementing AI/LLM orchestration frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, or vector databases.Domain-specific expertise in [FinTech / HealthTech / B2B SaaS Compliance]
