Acting as primary engineering leads, they navigate critical technical domains—including requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, testing, evaluation, and maintainability. By seamlessly coordinating diverse teams and disciplines, they ensure successful system design, development, and implementation. Furthermore, the Senior Lead Engineer is expected to continuously enhance system designs by incorporating expert feedback from manufacturing, testing, supply chain, reliability, industrial design, and simulations.Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areasReview, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedbackLead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.Proactively promote industry best practicesMay manage relationships with key vendors/partners.Research systems ideas and draw up plans for these systemsDesign, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. Architecture of solution: Divide up tasks for various engineering teams to execute taking into consideration requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, testing and evaluation, maintainability and many other disciplines necessary for successful system design and field support.Test, simulate and measure (including troubleshooting) the performance of systemsKeep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulationsSolve complex problemsLiaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.Analyze and interpret data and informationRecommend system modificationsCreate reports and documentationEnabling CompetenciesProject Management - Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions.
