Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) Engineer📍 Location: Winston-Salem, NC (Hybrid)💼 Employment Type: Full-TimeKey SkillsDb2 LUW | SQL Server | AWS | Terraform | HADR | Pacemaker | Q Replication | Always On | Database Migration | Performance Tuning | Python | PowerShell | Bash | Ansible | DevOps | Security & Compliance | Disaster Recovery | Cloud ArchitectureAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) Engineer to design, administer, and optimize enterprise Db2 LUW and Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and AWS cloud platforms. This role will focus on database engineering, cloud migration, high availability/disaster recovery, automation, performance tuning, security, and infrastructure modernization.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and optimize Db2 LUW 11.5+ and SQL Server 2019+ environments.Design and support High Availability & Disaster Recovery solutions including Db2 HADR, Pacemaker, Q Replication, SQL Server Always On, FCI, Log Shipping, and Replication.Engineer and support cloud database platforms using AWS RDS, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, and AWS Backup.Lead database migration and modernization initiatives with minimal downtime.Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.Automate database provisioning, monitoring, patching, backup, and recovery using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible.Implement database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls.Lead disaster recovery testing, performance tuning, capacity planning, and operational excellence initiatives.Serve as a technical SME and mentor for database technologies and cloud architecture.Required Qualifications10+ years of enterprise database administration and engineering experience.Expert-level experience with Db2 LUW and Microsoft SQL Server.Strong experience with Db2 HADR, Pacemaker Clustering, Q Replication, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.Hands-on experience with AWS database services and cloud infrastructure.Strong expertise in Terraform and automation scripting.Experience with database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and capacity planning.Experience supporting mission-critical, highly available production environments.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.Preferred QualificationsAWS Database Specialty and/or AWS Solutions Architect certifications.Experience with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud-native database services.Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or Datadog.Financial services or highly regulated industry experience
